Four materials. Four characters of scent.
Next, the rooms where they settle. 

Olfactory Space ->
a few rough-cut pieces of dark bluestone and fine-grained slate balanced one on top of another into a low, stable column. A single dried fig leaf stands upright against the stack, slightly curled at its edge, and a small cluster of pale green-amber galbanum resin tears rests on a flat ledge of slate. Dark near-black teal-green gradient background fading to a soft matte light grey floor, clean and empty.
